About Health Education Systems Incorporated (HESI) A2 Exam
The HESI A2 is a computerized exam used to evaluate prospective students wishing to enter the RN, LPN to RN Bridge, LPN and Dental Hygiene programs. It assesses the academic skills students need to succeed in these programs.
The exam consists of 9 tests: Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Grammar, Math, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Learning Styles and Personality Style. Students should ensure that they complete the sections of the exam that are required by their program.

4. Chemistry
Individuals will be tested on their knowledge of atoms and atomic structures, matter and different elements from the periodic table. Test takers may also need to be familiar with chemical reactions along with chemical equations. Test questions could also focus on topics such as chemical bonds and nuclear chemistry.
5. English
The English testing for the HESI A2 encompasses the grammar, reading comprehension and vocabulary and general knowledge tests. Test takers may need to show that they know how to use punctuation properly, how to use adjectives, correct sentence structure and how to identify the main idea in a written passage. When taking the English tests, individuals could also be asked to identify the main idea of a text.
