What is the exam pattern for Six Sigma Yellow Belt (SSYB) Certification Exam?
1. The candidate taking the certification is required to pass an examination that consists of multiple choice questions that measure comprehension of the Body of Knowledge.
2. CSSGB examination is a one-part, 85-question, two-and-eighteen minutes exam and is offered in English only. 75 questions are scored and 10 are unscored.
3. Paper and Pencil – The CSSGB examination is a one-part, 75-question, two-hour exam and is offered in English.
. 4. All examinations are open book with the exception of the constructed response (essay) portion of the CMQ/OE exam. Each participant must bring his or her own reference materials.

Is the Six Sigma exam open-book?
Sigma holds the exception of a constructed-response portion of the Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence exam, all the exams are open-book. Only personally developed notes from training or refresher courses are allowed, only under the following conditions – 1. The examinee must get his/her reference materials reviewed by the proctor
2. Exam Proctor is the final authority on the admissibility of all reference materials
3. No collections of questions and answers or course quizzes are permissible
4. Also, reference sources containing such a copy are not allowed unless the questions are removed
5. Examinees are required to abide by applicable copyright laws
What are the certification testing locations available?
ASQ conducts the exams twice a year through local Sections and international sites. Note, in all metro cities ASQ India facilitate a venue for the certification exam.
Does ASQ charge any annual membership fee?
Yes, there are annual membership fees for a different type of membership such as Full, Associate, Forum/Division, Student, and Organizational.
Is the membership transferable to someone else?
No, the membership is not transferable in any case. Candidate needs to register for the exam with new membership.

What kind of projects cannot be used in Six Sigma?
Six Sigma Yellow Belt project is one that uses appropriate tools within a Six Sigma approach to producing breakthrough performance and real financial benefit to an operating business or company. Projects that do not qualify –
1. Prepackaged or classroom exercises that are mock or simulated projects that were previously completed and/or that do not include actual “hands-on” work.
2. No real organization or business unit; no current problem or cost-benefit.
3. Basic product improvement projects not associated with process improvements.
4. Software maintenance or remediation without detailed process measurements.
5. Any project without measured before-and-after cost benefits.
What is the passing score on a certification exam?
The cut-score process is used in all ASQ certification exams. candidates are required to score 550 points out of a possible 750 to be certified.
Can I get certified if I do not have the required experience?
For some certifications with education waivers, you may waive some of the required work experience if you have a degree, diploma or certificate beyond high school.
