What is NISM Series-IX: Merchant Banking Certification exam?
The NISM Series-IX: Merchant Banking Certification exam offered by NISM aims to offer a better understanding of numerous regulations in the Merchant Banking Domain. It further seeks to hold a basic understanding of various aspects of Capital market functions, it operates various processes involved in registered Merchant Bankers. The number of questions asked in the exam is 100.
What is the time duration?
The time duration for the exam is 2 hours.
What is the examination fee?
The total amount to register for the exam is Rs. 1500+.
What is the certification validation?
This certification is valid for next 3 years from the day of taking the examination.

- Thirdly, candidates can register themselves online by filling the Candidate Registration Form.

What is the Refund and Reschedule Policy?
Fees once paid shall not be refunded except under following circumstances:
- Candidate’s account /card was debited but the enrollment was not successful
- In case of multiple deduction of fees from candidate’s account
- In case NISM or test administrator is not able to offer examination/ CPE program / e CPE program for any technical reason and rescheduling is not suitable to a candidate
A candidate may be offered rescheduling of an examination subject to availability of slots only in certain cases such as:
- Significant / prolonged disruption of internet / power at the test center
- Non-availability of NISM’s examination application due to scheduled or unscheduled maintenance
- Inability of NISM or test administrator to conduct examination/s because of circumstances like natural disasters, law and order situation etc.

Will I be allowed to use my mobile phone during the test?
No. The NISM remote proctored exam is to be taken as seriously as any other high‐stake test, where you are expected to only concentrate on the test and not use any mobile device/ headphone/earphone/ ear pod/smart watch/ blue tooth device, etc.
Will I be allowed to use a calculator during the test?
No, you will not be allowed to use any separate calculator or similar devices during the test. You will be provided with onscreen scientific calculator during the exam. In case of any violation, your exam may be terminated with or without any prior warning.
