Meaning of US citizenship by Naturalization

Naturalization is the granting of U.S. citizenship after birth by any means whatsoever. There are miscellaneous ways a foreign citizen or national may become a U.S. citizen through the naturalization process. To become a naturalized U.S. citizen, the applicant must pass the naturalization test. The applicant will be required to answer questions about his/her application and background at the naturalization interview. S/He will also take an English and civics test unless the applicant qualifies for an exemption or waiver.
