What are the delivery methods for M_o_R® Accredited training courses?

Training in Risk Management (M o R®) is available in several ways through Accredited Training Organizations or their licensed partners, including face-to-face training in a physical or virtual classroom, or through distance learning that can be provided through Learning Technology or other methods. A mixture of both could be some training solutions. See the Training section of the official website for more information.

Will I be able to self study for the M_o_R® Foundation exam?

Yes the candidates can do self study, but it is important to put in a little more hardwork than usual as this examination is a huge certification exam and is difficult as well. Candidates are able to self-study (i.e. take the examination directly from the official training site.

Which publication should I use to study for the M_o_R® Foundation exam?

What languages are M_o_R® examinations translated into ?

M_o_R® examinations have been translated into English, German, Polish, Dutch.

How long are the M_o_R® qualifications valid for?

There is no expiry date for the Foundation test.  As an “M o R® Registered Practitioner” candidates who pass the Practitioner Test are acknowledged. For a span of five calendar years, individuals may remain registered. Practitioners must complete and pass the M o R Re-Registration exam three to five calendar years after their initial/previous Practitioner certification in order to preserve their registered status.

 What is the structure of the M_o_R course?

The M-o-R Foundation and Practitioner Knowledge Academy 5-day course follow a two-part structure. In order to prepare for the Foundation test, the first three days of the course require familiarisation with the material of the M o R manual. Once the Foundation test has been successfully completed, delegates will spend one day studying for the M o R Practitioner exam, sitting this exam on the final day of the course.

What are the prerequisites of the course?

There are no conditions for the Foundation test; however before completing the Practitioner exam, applicants must obtain a pass at the foundation level.

Is M_o_R only useful for IT based projects?

The quick answer is no.  M-O-R can be used on any form of the project; M-O-R does not only refer to projects that may be equally applicable to systems, day-to-day operating units, and an organization’s strategic management level.

How do I train for the M_o_R qualification?

Low booking confirmation of the Pre-Course job will be submitted to the delegate by the Information Academy. This work is comprised of –

  • Reading 4 chapters of the “Management of Risk: Guidance for Practitioners” M o R manual. 
  • Pre-course questions for the Delegate to complete. 
  • 30 multiple choice Questions to test responses to your M o R®. 

The pre-course work on a course at the Information Academy would take about 8 hours of research prior to the start date of the course.

How long will it take to get my results from the M_o_R course?

After the test, M o R Foundation examinations can be labeled on-site, but this is due to the invigilator’s discretion at the time. Official confirmation from your ATO will follow. 

At APMG-International offices, practitioner response sheets are labeled and findings are published soon afterward. If you have taken your test with an ATO, within 48 hours of being labeled, practitioner results are sent to ATOs. Around 1-2 weeks after taking the Practitioner Test, you should collect your results.
