ECS Fire Detection & Alarm Systems Installer card has been designed specifically for skilled operatives who hold specialist manufacturer training and/or industry recognised level 2 qualifications in the installation of fire detection and alarm systems.
Eligibility Criterion for ECS Fire Detection & Alarm Systems
- Must hold an accredited manufacturer training in their specialized field and/or suitable level 2 Fire Detection & Alarm Systems qualification
- Must be able to provide a detailed employer reference, confirming competence in this field
- Must have a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment.
For Fire Detection & Alarms System Installer – Level 3 – Gold
ECS Fire Detection & Alarm Systems Installer card has been specifically designed for skilled operatives that have gained the industry level 3 qualification in installation. In order to work at at this level generally requires following set of knowledge and skills –
- Must have BS7671 for electrical safety
- Must have understanding of safety issues
- Must hold effective working relationships
- Must have an understanding of relevant electrical safety issues,
- Must have commissioning of fire protection systems
Eligibility Criterion for ECS Fire Detection & Alarm Systems Installer card
1. Must satisfy ONE of the following criterion –
- Should have successfully completed an Approved Apprenticeship in Fire Detection & Alarm Systems
- Should hold a Level 3 NVQ in Providing Security, Emergency & Alarm Systems (1882) or (1866) or (2882)
- Should hold an ECS Fire Detection & Alarm Systems Installer card for minimum five years and provide a detailed employer reference, confirming their competence in this field
2. Must have a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment.
For Fire Detection & Alarms Systems Designer – White with blue stripe
ECS Fire Detection & Alarm Systems Designer card has been specifically designed for operatives having specialist manufacturer training and/or industry recognized level 2 qualifications in the design of fire detection and alarm systems.
Eligibility Criterion for ECS Fire Detection & Alarm Systems Designer card
- Must have accredited manufacturer training in their specialist field and/or suitable level 2 Fire Detection & Alarm Systems design qualification.
- Must be able to provide a detailed employer reference, confirming competence in this field.

For Fire Detection & Alarm Systems Designer – Level 3 – Gold
ESC Fire Detection & Alarm Systems Designer card has been specifically designed for skilled operatives holding industry level 3 qualification in design. Such that working at this level typically requires performing the following duties unsupervised:
- Assessing fire risks
- Making a choice of detectors and/or suppression media
- Having complete understanding of safety issues
- Must have effective working relationships
- Must have knowledge of installation of fire protection systems.

- Must hold accredited manufacturer training in their specialist field and/or a suitable level 2 Fire Detection & Alarm Systems qualification.

For Fire Detection & Alarm Systems Commissioning – Level 3 – Gold
ESC Fire Detection & Alarm Systems Commissioning card has been specifically designed for skilled operatives who have gained the industry level 3 qualification in commissioning. professionals working at this level are generally required to perform the following duties unsupervised:
