What is Corrosion and Materials Professional Exam – API 571?
API welcomes highly specialized inspectors, corrosion engineers, chemical engineers and other professionals across the entire petrochemical industry to obtain the API 571 Corrosion and Materials certification as a validation of their profound knowledge of corrosion processes.
What is the validity period of the certification?
The certification is valid for a period of 3 years.
When will I be certified?
The certification process typically takes 2-4 weeks after exam results are released, at which time a paper certificate and wallet card will be mailed to the “Preferred” address in your API account profile.
What is the refund policy of API exams?
Refund requests must be submitted to API within three months from the date payment was received by API and prior to the examination window, as set forth below.
When will I receive my exam results?
Exam results are typically released 6-8 weeks after the final day of the testing window. Results are emailed directly from Prometric to the email address that candidates provided when scheduling an exam on Prometric’s website.
Does API charge additional fee to reschedule or cancel the exam?
A fee of $70 is charge in order to rescheduled or cancel the exam within 5-29 days prior to an existing exam appointment.
Do I need to take a training course for the test?
No, ICP does not require candidates to take a training class to prepare for exams. It is the candidate’s decision whether to attend training before an ICP exam.
Can I reschedule or cancel the exam a day before the actual exam?
You may not reschedule or cancel an exam less than five (5) days before a current exam appointment.
