What is the BCSM exam?

BSE’s Certification exam on Securities Market (BCSM) has been designed to make sure that the candidates performing or working in the stock market have a complete and clear understanding of the stock exchange operations and their functionalities.

What is the exam duration?

The exam duration is 90 minutes.

What is the format or question pattern of the exam?

The format is multiple-choice or multiple-responses questions.

What are the total marks for the BCSM exam?

The total number of marks for the BCSM exam is 100.

When will the certificate expire?

The BCSM certificate’s validity is 6 years.

Is there any negative marking for this exam?

Yes, there is a negative marking for this exam. A quarter mark is deducted for every wrong answer.

How many questions come in the BCSM exam?

There is a total of 60 questions in the exam.

What is the passing score for the exam?

The candidates are supposed to score 50% or more in order to pass the exam successfully.

In what language is the exam conducted?

The exam is conducted in the English language.

What is the deadline for taking the BCSM Exam after registration?

Yes, the candidates should take the exam within one month of registration.

Is it possible to postpone the exam?

No, once the test date and time have been scheduled, the test cannot be rescheduled. The candidates would need to take a fresh enrollment.

When will be the certification and results received?

The results will be shown as soon as the exam is submitted and the certificate will be provided within 30 days in case of a BSE center and within 45 days in case of any Non-BSE center.

What are the BCSM Exam instructions?

  • The candidates are allowed to bring a scientific calculator and pen for the examination hall.
  • Mobile phones/any electronic device is prohibited.
  • The candidates will not be provided with any assistance during the exam.
  • The candidates must reach the exam center 30 minutes prior to the scheduled exam timing
  • Don’t forget to bring your photo ID card, for example- Passport/PAN Card/Driving License.

What are the rescheduling and return policies?

If the exam date and time have been allotted, the candidate can not request rescheduling of the exam and there is no refund of the exam fee.

How to register for the BCSM Exam?

  • If you are a new user, you need to register first.
  • If you have already registered, log in to BSE Institue Limited (BIL).
  • Select the certification – BCSM.
  • Proceed with the payment ( Master/Visa Credit Card of any Bank).
  • For registering, select the option ‘Enroll for Test’.
  • Choose the test center and preferred date for the exam.
  • Then, take a printout of the admit card. Don’t forget to bring the admit card to the exam.
