The BCS Foundation Certificate in Artificial Intelligence validates a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of the terminology and general principles of AI. This Foundation level Certificate includes and expands on the knowledge taught in the BCS Essentials Certificate in AI.

How to schedule a BCS Foundation Certificate in Artificial Intelligence exam?
Candidates can schedule the BCS Foundation Certificate in Artificial Intelligence at the Pearson VUE testing Center.
What is the examination cancellation policy?
Candidates who want to cancel the exam must request within 48 hours from receipt of the cancellation request. However, if the notice period prior to the exam date is of more than 14 days then there will be a full refund. However, if it is more than 7 days then, there is a 50% exam fee refund. But, for less than 14 days there is no refund.
What is the exam rescheduling policy?
Candidates have to reschedule their examination at least 14 days prior to the original examination date. Moreover, they will only be eligible to sit the next available examination date. However, they cannot reschedule examination more than once and rescheduled examinations cannot be refunded.
Is there any ‘No Show’ Policy for the BCS exam?
If candidates do not cancel or reschedule their examination sitting then, they will forfeit the examination fee. Moreover, we will not refund the examination fee or offer a free rescheduled date.
What accommodations are offered for the BCS exam?
Candidates who require reasonable adjustments due to a disability must refer to the reasonable adjustments policy for detailed information. However, for candidates whose language is not the exam language, they will get 25% extra time.
How will my money be refunded?
If you have paid by card we will make the refund directly back on to the card used to make the original payment. Please note that it may take several days to reach your account. If you paid by cheque or bank draft, we will refund you by post.
What if I am not able to attend the exam?
- Candidates who cannot attend the examination due to sickness or bereavement can cancel the examination at any time. They will be able to sit the examination on an alternative date at no additional cost.
What if the candidate does not have a valid ID at time of the exam?
If suitable identification is not produced before the examination, then candidates may still take the examination. But their results will not be released until suitable identification is provided to BCS. The invigilator or oral examiner will then take a head and shoulder photograph of the candidate on their mobile phone and email the photograph to BCS. This is done so that this can be compared with the photographic evidence submitted with the candidate identification form. The completed ‘Candidate Identification’ Form and certified copy of the photographic identification must be sent to BCS no later than 40 days after the examination date. And it must be sent either via recorded delivery or a scanned copy sent to [email protected]. If alternative identification is sent which is not certified photographic identification, this must be sent either via recorded delivery or a scanned copy sent to [email protected].
How long will it take to prepare for the exam?
It usually takes a minimum of 60 hours to prepare for the exam.
How will I receive my exam certificate?
Within 48 hours of taking your exam, you will receive an email from BCS asking you to login in to the BCS candidate portal – e-professional. Successful candidates will be able to access and download their e-certificate from within the portal. It is therefore essential that your individual email address is accurately entered when registering with Pearson VUE.
