In this, we will understand and learn about choosing between Azure Cost Management and Cloudyn. This is very important to get clear these concepts to have a good exam preparation, so let’s know about it.

Microsoft Cost Management

  • Microsoft acquired Cloudyn and it is migrating its cost management features from the Cloudyn portal natively into Azure. And, to use the new features, you just have to sign in to the Azure portal and navigate to a section of the Cost Management and Billing in the list of its services. Compared to Cloudyn, the native experience offers improved performance and lower data latency of about eight hours.
  • However, the Cloudyn is being deprecated by the end of 2020. And, the existing Cloudyn features integration is directly into the Azure portal wherever possible. And, with the exception of CSP customers, no new customers can onboard at this time.
  • Thirdly, the key feature migration for Enterprise Agreement, Pay-As-You-Go, and MSDN offer categories to Cost Management in Azure is complete. CSP subscriptions migration is in the process over to the Cost Management.
  • However, if you have an offer category not yet migrated then, you should continue to use the Cloudyn portal.
