Provisional Card – CSCS

Eligibility and Requirement for Provisional Card

Provisional card is issued to candidates working through probationary periods while employers assess their suitability for employment. Note – The cards are only available for those who have never held a CSCS card.

It is compulsory for the applicants to pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the past two years.

This card lasts for six months and is not renewable.  Before it expires Provisional card holders must achieve or be registered for a recognised construction related qualification and apply for the appropriate CSCS card for their job.

Purpose of CITB H&S Test

The primary objective of the CITB H&S test is to examine the knowledge across a wide range of topics to improve safety and productivity on site. The exam is generally taken as a PC-based touch screen test. Note, everyone applying for a CSCS card must pass the appropriate health, safety and environment test.
