How many questions are on the CFPS exam, and how long do you have to complete it?
The Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions. Candidates have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the exam. The exam is computer-based and administered at Prometric test centers located worldwide. Candidates must achieve a score of at least 70% to pass the exam and earn the CFPS certification.
What is the exam rescheduling and cancellation policy?
If the modification is made 30 days or more before your appointment date, there is no fee for rescheduling or canceling an appointment.
You may reschedule or cancel your appointment between 29 and 5 calendar days prior to the scheduled time, however, a $50 fee will apply (to Prometric). You cannot change your appointment if 4 days or less remain before the original date. You will be deemed a no-show and will need to submit a retest application if you cancel your appointment during this time frame or do not show up for your appointment.
What is exam appeal?
A request for the Certification Body to review any decision it has made on a candidate’s or applicant’s desired certification status.
How much does the exam appeal costs?
A $50 appeal fee is required. If the Appeals and Complaints Committee rules in favor of the Candidate or Certificate Holder, the fee will be returned to the Appellant.

Who is eligible to take the CFPS exam?
