The Residential Electrical Inspector will be an open book Online proctored exam.

The duration of the exam is 120 minutes.

How to reschedule the exam?

To reschedule a Code Council Computer-based Certification Exam, visit Pearson VUE’s website at www.pearsonvue.com/icc or call Pearson VUE at 1-800-275-8301. To change your reservation without monetary penalty, you must notify Pearson VUE two business days before your scheduled examination  If you call Pearson VUE less than two business days before your scheduled examination, you will be charged the full examination fee and will not be able to reschedule without purchasing the exam again.

What is minimum passing score?

The minimum passing score also known as the scale score required is 75 for national certification exams.

What references or code books are the exams based on?

References for Certification exams differ based on code year. Be sure to change the code year to the one for your exam by selecting the year on the Code Year dropdown in your exam’s listing.

How do I cancel my Computer-based Exam (CBT exam) on Pearson VUE’s website?

To cancel the exam, log in to your Pearson VUE dashboard. Under Upcoming Appointments, choose the exam you want to cancel.

Under Exam Appointment Details, click the Cancel link.

Can I just look up the answers in the book during the exam?

ICC Exams are designed to test minimal competency on the subject matter. Simply being able to locate information in a reference is not sufficient to demonstrate this competency, and time constraints are set in consideration of this fact. There is not enough time on any exam to look up every question on an exam. Reference materials are allowed and encouraged to supplement the knowledge of a subject. We recommend becoming very familiar with all reference material in order to minimize time searching for answers.
