AFCAT is an entrance test conducted for aspirants who want to join Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officer in Flying, Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non-Technical). Indian citizens, having minimum 60% marks in Physics and Mathematics each in 10+2 are eligible to register for the Air Force examination.

The AFCAT Exam covers the following -
General Awareness
- History, Geography, Civics, Politics, Current Affairs, Environment basic science, Defence, Art culture, Sports etc.
English
- Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion/Filling in of the correct word, Synonyms, Antonyms, and Testing of word, Vocabulary, Idioms and Phrases
Numerical Ability
- Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average, Profit and Loss, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion and Simple Interest, Time and Distance(trains/boats and streams)
Reasoning and military aptitude test
- Verbal Skill and Spatial Ability
What is the AFCAT Exam?
Air Force conducts AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) twice a year Common Admission Test (AFCAT) usually in the month of February and September every year for the selection of officers in various branches of the Air force including the following:
- Flying Branch (Short Service Commission)
- Technical Branch (Short Service Commission and Permanent Commission)
- Ground Duty Branch (Short Service Commission and Permanent Commission)
What is AFCAT Exam Pattern?
- Medium of Exam: English only
- Number of question: 100
- Maximum marks: 300
- Weightage: Each question is of three marks
What is the marking scheme for AFCAT Exam?
Every correct answer will be awarded with three marks while, negative marking for wrong attempts i.e. One mark will be deducted against every wrong answer.
What is the Process to Apply for AFCAT Exam?
Applications are invited from both male and female Indian citizens as per Citizenship Act 1955 for grant of Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent/Short Service Commission in Technical and Ground Duty branches.
What is the AFCAT Exam Selection Process ?
